Low and slow, just like their music!

Oh, I’m so proud of my little boy, but I do worry about him so!  It’s the prerogative of a mother, after all.  There are so many bad things that can happen to a rock and roll band on tour, and Tommy and his friends are going to be gone for nine whole weeks!  Tommy swore to me that his old van will get them across the country and back, but it makes me nervous.  They’ll be doing so much driving at night, and what if they don’t wear their seatbelts?

I know they’ll probably be fine, but you should have seen those boys after their last little tour!  Two months straight of nothing but fast food and beef jerky.  I wouldn’t have believed you could get fat on $7 per day!  Even the members of Cannibal Cataclysm need to eat healthy!  I thought about packing them up a bunch of turkey sandwiches into a cooler before they left, but I knew they’d just throw them out and fill the cooler with beer!  Still, I’m a mother—I wasn’t going to give up easily.  So I did a little shopping online, and I found the cutest little RoadPro 12-Volt 1.5 Quart Slow Cooker with Car Adapter at a fantastic bargain on one of those daily deal sites!

It was so perfect, I nearly cried.  This little crockpot plugs right into their van’s cigarette lighter, so they can turn it on in the afternoon, and by the time they’re finished with their show, they’ll have a piping hot casserole waiting for them outside!  There are so many cheap, healthy meals you can make in a portable crockpot:  pot roast, chicken and corn chowder, vegetarian chili, the list goes on and on!  And it’s so easy to use, even a complete idiot like their bassist can cook a hot meal on the road.

He’ll have to, because goodness knows no girls will be cooking meals for them out there.  I guess there’s just something about amelodic doomcore that us women don’t get.  I’ll still worry about my baby, but at least I know he won’t be killing himself with Chicken McNuggets out there!

Ooh, this will be good for the camper! I've never seen a crock pot with a 12 volt adapter before.

I've seen some weird stuff for sale on this site, but this may take the cake. Are there that many people clamoring to cook and drive at the same time?
