Suck it up

Do you know what the key is to getting maximum trade-in value on a car?  Believe me, there’s no secret involved—just constant maintenance.  When I purchased my 2008 Toyota RAV4, it wasn’t because the SUV had best-in-class luxury or performance.  It was because the RAV4 holds its value better than the competition.  In order to really get the most out of my investment, though, I have to be vigilant.  Nicks and scratches in the paint around the door handle?  Those get buffed out immediately.  Wear on the tire treads?  Time for a new set!  The tiniest spill or stain on the interior carpeting or upholstery?  It’s best to drive at top speed to the nearest detail shop to get it cleaned before the stain can set.  If you want your car to remain in tip-top condition, you have to handle these things right away, or else they start to accumulate.

Daily vehicle maintenance was a lot easier before I had a family.  It doesn’t take long for every crevice in the SUV to fill up with Cheerios when you’re hauling two kids around, and as recently as five years ago, I had no idea it was even possible for a dog to get carsick.  If I was to have any hope of recouping my investment come trade-in time, I had to step my game up when it came to maintaining my car’s interior. That’s why I shelled out for this RoadPro 12-Volt Wet/Dry Canister Vacuum.

Now, I’ve got a shop vac in the garage at home, and it’s great for regular cleanings of both our family’s cars.  But when your kid sits on a ketchup packet in the back seat even though you TOLD HIM NOT TO OPEN THE MCDONALD’S BAG UNTIL YOU GOT HOME, that stain’s going to set long before you pull into the driveway.  That’s where the canister vacuum comes in so handy!  It’s small enough to ride in the back of the SUV, but powerful enough to suck up ketchup, French fries, soda, Skittles, or whatever else my kids have decorated the upholstery with.  The RoadPro plugs right into the car’s cigarette lighter, so if my dog tosses his kibbles while I’m on the road, I don’t even have to pull over to clean up.  It’s amazing!  The included carpet tool, upholstery brush, crevice tool, and reusable cloth filter bags ensure that there’s no nook or cranny in my Toyota where grime can hide.

My 12-Volt Canister Vacuum works so well that I got one for my wife’s car, my boat, and my RV, too.  Thanks to RoadPro, now there’s no vehicle that my kids can destroy!

At least until they turn 16, anyway.

Awesome! I do a lot of car-wash fundraisers with my son's Boy Scouts troop. This wet/dry vac is perfect seeing as there are no electric outlets out in the middle of the grocery store parking lot where we usually hold the car washes. Very affordable.
