Gaming on the Glow

My collection of UMD discs is a bit of a conundrum.  Don’t get me wrong, I love all the different movies and games that I can play anywhere on my Sony PSP.  In fact, my friends think I’ve gone a little overboard buying them—I’ve got over 200 UMDs lying all over the place.  Obviously, I’ve got no issue with their format, portability, or collectability.  My only problem with my UMD collection is a simple matter of storage.

Now, when I take my PSP with me on the bus, I bring a selection of movies and games with me in a flip-file hard case.  It works great, but it only holds 12 discs at a time, and there’s no place to put each disc’s box and manual.  It’s great for toting UMDs from place to place, but what I really need is a way to store and display my huge collection in my apartment.  UMDs are too small for my DVD shelf, and they don’t fit in my old CD rack, either.  Still, I couldn’t go on leaving my PSP games and movies lying around the house in little piles.  I could never find the one I was looking for!

When I discovered the Nakiworld UMD Illuminated Tower Organizer online, I was intrigued.  First of all, it’s the only UMD organizer I’ve ever seen anywhere.  Second of all, it lights up!  Frankly, I’m surprised all media shelves don’t light up—I mean, it helps you find what you’re looking for in the dark.  Slick as the UMD Illuminated Tower’s cool blue glow is, though, I didn’t see how it would be of much use to me.  After all, I’ve got over 200 UMDs, and the tower only holds 12.  But then I saw the price.

FREE!  History’s only unbeatable price!  My mind started to race as I performed the calculations.  I’d need merely a scant 17 of the UMD towers, and I’ve have storage enough for my entire collection of discs with room to grow!  And it would only cost me the price of shipping!  Clearly, this was a deal sent from above.  Once the UMD Illuminated Tower Organizers arrive, their combined glow will be powerful enough that I can even sell all of my lamps on eBay to earn money for new PSP games!  That ought to thrill my friends.

Now, if I could just figure out what to do with my Nintendo DS games…
