*** SECOND CHANCE ***

Due to issues with our site yesterday, we are offering a second chance at this great product.

Death metal and taxes

I hate tax season.  And do you know why?  It’s because I don’t pay my taxes.  There, I said it!  It’s been my dirty little secret for years.  I guess my reasoning for avoiding taxes is pretty simple:  I’ve never been caught.   I’m self-employed without any major assets or loans, so I’d say my odds of getting busted are pretty low.  I read online that an estimated 7 million Americans fail to file their taxes every year, and in 2008 the IRS examined only 158,000 such cases. That comes out to a roughly 2 percent chance of getting caught.  Those are odds I can live with.

Well, most of the year, anyway.  When tax time rolls around, I get nervous.  Like, really, REALLY nervous.  Can I make it another year?  Will this finally be the tax season when my practiced irresponsibility comes crashing down around me?  Is the IRS allowed to waterboard people?  Every February, my stress level jumps through the roof.

How do I cope?  Simple—I tune everything out.  For two months, I basically hide out in my apartment and try to become invisible.  This year, that’s actually been pretty easy thanks to my MH2001 5-in-1 Hi-Fi S-XBS Wireless Headphones.  I just slip the comfy noise-isolating headphones over my ears, and it’s like reality just melts away.  Mostly, I use them to listen to Swedish death metal on my PC or iPod; it really calms me down.  Thanks to the wireless FM emitter, I can leave my iPod in its dock and headbang all over the house.  But I can plug the emitter into almost any audio component—my TV, Xbox, DVD player, even my old school Discman—and listen to crisp sound without tripping over any wires.  The FM emitter even has a built-in microphone, making it perfect for wireless voice chat or for monitoring a different room than the one I’m in.  That kind of outside contact isn’t what I’m interested in for the moment, though.

Oh God, a Turbo Tax commercial just came on!  They KNOW!  Ok, ok, I’m not going to freak out.  I’ll just go out on the porch for a quick smoke.  Where are my headphones?  Maybe a little Teutonic thrash will calm my nerves.

The built-in mic is a cool feature. Can it be used for Xbox live?
