Our deal of the day, the Color Phasing Mini Glitter Lava Lamp, is amazing in its ability to combine the trends and aesthetics of four consecutive decades of American tastes.  Think about it:  This fun little doodad combines the spacey groove of the 1970s, the glittery sparkle of the 80s, the kitsch nostalgia of the 90s, and the LED revolution of the 21st century.  That’s a lot of cultural history infused in one battery-powered toy.

The significance of what is represented by today’s deal really speaks to me.  That’s why I decided the Color Phasing Mini Glitter Lava Lamp would make the perfect hood ornament.  That way, all my fellow drivers can bask with me in the warm glow of pop culture’s march through history!  It looks pretty cool glued to the hood of my 1998 Mercury Cougar, I think.  To tell the truth, I was afraid it wouldn’t work, because you’re supposed to flip the lamp to light it up.  Luckily, it turns out running over a pothole works just as well.
