iPods.  Coffee warmers. Lava lamps.  Refigerators.  There is virtually no electrical product that cannot now be bought as a USB peripheral.  I’m sure when the designers of the universal serial bus rolled out their revolutionary data port that in 2010 we’d be using it to heat one beverage while we cooled another, but hey, here we are.  USB has become the connection port in computer electronics.  The only problem is, it’s tough to get the most out of your USB ashtray unless you’re three feet from a computer.

Now, the Belkin F8Z121 USB AC Travel Power Adapter has gone a long way towards overcoming that particular obstacle.  Using the Belkin USB adapter, you can turn any ordinary wall socket into a USB port to power and charge your gadgets.  And that’s fine for now.  But I think we all know where this is headed:  USB wall sockets.  USB car sockets.  Soon, there will be no electrical sockets anywhere that are not USB ports.  And your MP3 player’s battery life will still suck.
