I used to take a lot of crap from my friends for shooting the same “MySpace pose” in all of my photos.  You know the one I’m talking about:  You hold the digital camera up above yourself, throw your arm around somebody, cock your head, pout your lips, and snap you a new profile pic.  Whether that criticism is fair or not, it hurt.

I decided to get a little more serious about photography.  The best thing that ever happened to my photos was getting myself a quality aluminum camera tripod.  It keeps me from indulging my penchant for stupid photo angles, for one thing, and it keeps my photos on an even keel even if I’ve downed a couple of beers.  The difference is noticeable, and my FaceBook albums look like the work of a professional.  Well, at least compared to my old stuff.

What about you? Got any photography tips for me?  Where’s the most difficult place to set up a tripod, would you say?
