Was it really so long ago that video game controllers didn’t need batteries?  Was it so terrible to be shackled to our gaming consoles by those long, black cords?  Obviously, the designers of the Nintendo Wii thought so.  After blatantly jacking the shiny white aesthetic of Apple’s phenomenally successful iPod, Nintendo decided to go slightly retro and built their Wiimotes to jack the Sony Walkman’s propensity to eat AA batteries for breakfast.

Thanks to today’s BuyersHQ steal, though, we can once again borrow from Mr. Jobs’ baby.  Now Wii fanatics can charge their remotes in a cradle just like they charge their iPods at night.  Stop giving your money to the Energizer bunny and save that dough for next edition of Rock Band.  Nintendo controllers haven’t been this hassle-free since the advent of the turbo button.
